Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Contract: PJ

Duration: Open-ended

We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment leveraging Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, PostgreSQL, and Terraform. This role offers the opportunity to work on modern cloud-native platforms, contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives, and help improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical systems.

You will collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, and DevOps professionals to build and maintain secure, highly available environments while continuously improving deployment processes and operational excellence.

This is a fully remote contract opportunity for candidates located in North or South America.

What You'll Do

Participate in a regular on-call rotation and respond to production incidents in a reliable and professional manner.Maintain and evolve cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP environments.Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform.Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and scalable software delivery.Manage and support containerized workloads running on Kubernetes.Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.Implement automation and self-service solutions that improve developer productivity.Monitor system performance, reliability, and operational health across cloud platforms.Continuously improve deployment processes, observability, security, and operational best practices.Quickly absorb business and technical context while contributing to ongoing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

4–6 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or similar roles.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP.Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.Experience with GitOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Flux, Harness, or similar solutions.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or CloudWatch.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams, including engineers working primarily within Pacific Time Zone (PST) hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing automation using languages such as Go, Python, Java, Elixir, or similar.Experience building and maintaining internal developer platforms and tooling.Familiarity with debugging performance, networking, and scalability issues in Kubernetes environments.Exposure to security, audit, or compliance frameworks such as SOC2, SOX, ISO27001, or PCI DSS.Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
