Brief Summary of Position:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the full spectrum of Human Resources activities for the business unit, acting as a strategic business partner to leaders while ensuring operational excellence and compliance with corporate policies and local legislation. This role drives organizational effectiveness by leading talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, payroll oversight, employee relations, leadership development, performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, labor relations, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. The position also partners closely with corporate HR Centers of Excellence and business leadership to align people strategies with organizational objectives. The HR Manager ensures compliance with labor legislation, corporate governance standards, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements while fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee development. The HR Manager will lead and develop the local HR team, ensuring high performance and capability building.
Essential Functions:
Strategic HR Business Partnership
Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies aligned with organizational goals.Provide coaching and guidance to managers on leadership, organizational design, talent management, employee relations, and performance.Support organizational transformation, change management initiatives, and workforce planning.Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with corporate guidelines and local legislation.Talent Management
Lead talent acquisition activities, including recruitment strategy, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning.Drive Performance Management, Talent Review, Succession Planning, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and employee survey action planning.Coordinate leadership development initiatives and training programs to strengthen organizational capabilities.Manage internship and early career programs, ensuring development and succession pipeline.Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
Oversee payroll administration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards.Manage salary structures, job evaluations, compensation reviews, incentive programs, and annual merit processes.Partner with Corporate Compensation on job grading and organizational structure.Review and optimize employee benefits programs considering market competitiveness and cost effectiveness.Manage the HR budget, headcount planning (AOP), labor costs, and workforce analytics.Employee Relations & Labor Compliance
Monitor labor legislation and recommend proactive actions to minimize legal exposure.Partner with Legal to manage labor litigation and develop strategies to mitigate legal risk and financial exposure.Lead labor relations activities, including collective bargaining negotiations in partnership with Legal.Ensure full compliance with labor, social security, tax, and statutory obligations.Support investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
HR Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with payroll, timekeeping, attendance management, and statutory reporting.Monitor HR metrics and KPIs. Leverage HR analytics to drive data-informed decisions related to turnover, absenteeism, overtime, engagement, recruitment effectiveness, and organizational health.Maintain HR processes, systems, records, and documentation in accordance with internal controls and audit requirements.Support internal and external audits.
Health, Safety & Well-being
Partner with EHS leadership to promote a strong safety culture.Support occupational health initiatives, wellness programs, legal compliance, and workplace safety practices.Ensure HR processes align with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and corporate requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.Postgraduate degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.Experience in multinational manufacturing or industrial environments.Experience supporting senior leadership teams.Proven experience leading strategic and operational HR initiatives.
