Position Overview

Upstart AEC is hiring a Commercial Manager to lead revenue-focused operations across sales, client communication, and internal delivery coordination.

This is a full-time, fully remote role with Upstart AEC. The ideal candidate is a senior, sales-minded commercial leader who can operate in a CRO-adjacent capacity, owning revenue execution while ensuring strong alignment across Talent Acquisition, Account Management, and Delivery.

This person will be responsible for moving qualified opportunities through the sales cycle, keeping deals on track, improving conversion from meetings to revenue, and ensuring internal teams stay aligned around client expectations and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings senior-level sales experience, preferably 10+ years, with experience working with the U.S. market or U.S.-based clients. Experience in nearshore services is preferred, as is experience helping grow a company from approximately $4M–$5M to $15M–$20M USD in revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from qualified opportunity to close, ensuring deals progress consistently and do not stall.
  • Maintain clear next steps for every active deal and ensure consistent follow-up with prospects and clients.
  • Partner with outbound efforts to convert meetings into revenue and improve conversion rates.
  • Drive consistent client communication and follow-up to maintain momentum and build long-term relationships.
  • Own day-to-day commercial and operational coordination across Talent Acquisition, Account Management, and Delivery.
  • Hold Talent Acquisition, Account Management, and Delivery teams accountable to timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy, pipeline visibility, and updated deal information.
  • Monitor active opportunities, identify risks, and drive corrective actions when deals or delivery timelines are at risk.
  • Provide weekly reporting on pipeline, revenue, and operational performance.
  • Highlight risks, blockers, and opportunities for improvement across sales and delivery operations.
  • Help ensure the team remains focused on revenue generation, client satisfaction, and execution quality.
  • Support revenue growth by improving sales execution, operational follow-through, and conversion from meetings to closed business.

Requisitos

  • 10+ years of senior sales or commercial leadership experience.
  • Experience working with the U.S. market or U.S.-based clients.
  • Strong sales and revenue mindset, with the ability to own opportunities from qualified lead to close.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, client follow-up, and deal progression.
  • Strong CRM discipline, including accurate pipeline tracking and clear next-step management.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple internal teams and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and internal team members.
  • Ability to identify stalled deals, operational gaps, or risks and take action to move things forward.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift.
  • Comfortable reporting on pipeline, revenue, operational performance, and key risks.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, balancing revenue leadership with day-to-day execution.

  • Experience in a revenue leadership, sales operations, commercial operations, or CRO-adjacent role.

Compensation Range

  • Base compensation: $60,000–$100,000 USD
  • Commission: Yes
  • On-target earnings: $120,000–$200,000 USD
