About Us

At Pocket FM, our mission is to deliver immersive storytelling experiences to a global audience. We are looking for a strategic and creative Senior Writer to lead content development, drive show performance, and manage a team of writers across multiple audio series.

Role Overview

As a Senior Writer, you will be the end-to-end owner of multiple shows, responsible for their creative direction, content quality, and audience performance. You will lead a team of Junior Writers, oversee localization and adaptation workflows, and ensure that each show delivers strong engagement and retention. This role requires a blend of storytelling expertise, analytical thinking, and leadership to continuously optimize content from a user-first perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Show Ownership & Editorial Strategy
  • Own multiple shows end-to-end, from pre-editorial planning to post-release optimization.
  • Define show-level creative direction, narrative arcs, and long-term storytelling strategy.
  • Review and approve concept notes, localization approaches, and adaptation frameworks.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, character development, and narrative quality across episodes and seasons.
  1. Content Development & Adaptation Oversight
  • Oversee script adaptation and localization workflows executed by Junior Writers.
  • Ensure all scripts meet editorial standards, cultural relevance, and storytelling depth.
  • Guide the use of GenAI tools for structured, high-quality script adaptation.
  • Provide detailed feedback and direction to refine scripts before production.
  1. Team Management & Leadership
  • Manage and mentor a team of Junior Writers, each assigned to individual shows.
  • Review outputs, provide constructive feedback, and ensure consistent quality across the team.
  • Drive accountability, productivity, and skill development within the team.
  • Foster a strong creative culture focused on storytelling excellence and user impact.
  1. Performance Monitoring & Optimization
  • Track and analyze show performance using key metrics such as user retention, listen duration, and conversion.
  • Identify underperforming episodes, story arcs, or shows and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Plan and execute show reworks based on audience behavior and feedback.
  • Continuously optimize content to maximize engagement and platform growth.
  1. Production Collaboration & Quality Control
  • Provide feedback on voice-over, production quality, and final audio output.
  • Ensure alignment between scripts and produced audio content.
  • Collaborate with production, QC, and creative teams to maintain high-quality output.
  1. User-Centric Content Improvement
  • Analyze user feedback, comments, and listening patterns to refine storytelling approaches.
  • Apply a strong user-first lens to identify gaps and solve content-related challenges.
  • Ensure content resonates with target audiences and drives long-term engagement.
  1. Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with business, content, and production teams to align on show goals and performance targets.
  • Participate in weekly reviews with the business team to evaluate show progress and define action plans.
  • Communicate insights, risks, and opportunities effectively across stakeholders.
  1. Promotion & Growth Strategy
  • Guide the development of promotional concepts and scripts for assigned shows.
  • Ensure promos align with the show’s narrative hook and audience appeal.

Requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Creative Writing, Media, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in scriptwriting, content localization, or storytelling for audio/video platforms.
  • Strong leadership experience managing writers or creative teams.
  • Deep understanding of narrative structure, pacing, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with AI-based writing/adaptation tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication, feedback, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shows and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
