The Opportunity
We are hiring a Revenue Accountant to own the revenue cycle end to end for US-based clients — from contract to recognised revenue to cash.
You will work in lean, high-trust environments where revenue is the number everyone watches. You will own how it is recognised, why it moved, and whether it will survive an audit. Your accuracy and process ownership directly support business growth.
What You Will Own
Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, including the five-step assessment, performance obligations, allocation, and timingReview customer contracts, order forms, and amendments for revenue impact, and flag terms that do not fit the established treatmentOwn the deferred revenue roll-forward, contract asset and liability schedules, and unbilled receivablesOwn the revenue close — journal entries, accruals, cut-off, and revenue reconciliations — within the monthly close calendarReconcile revenue and deferred revenue between the billing system, the CRM, and the general ledger, and resolve differences to root causeOversee subscription billing, invoicing accuracy, and the AR sub-ledger, and support collections with accurate customer balancesPrepare ARR, NRR, churn, and revenue reporting for US stakeholders, and tie it back to the audited revenue numberPerform revenue variance analysis and explain the movements — price, volume, mix, timing — in terms someone outside finance can act onMaintain audit-ready revenue documentation, including the memoranda supporting significant judgementsPrepare revenue PBC deliverables and respond directly to auditor queries on revenue through to resolutionSupport the broader month-end close, general ledger integrity, and supporting schedules alongside your revenue areasCollaborate directly with US Controllers, CFOs, and finance leadership, and partner with Sales and RevOps on deal structuring and billing questionsDrive process improvements and automation across the contract-to-cash cycle
What We're Looking For
4–6+ years of accounting experience with strong US GAAP exposure, including hands-on revenue accountingPractical depth in ASC 606 — not familiarity, but having applied it to real contracts and defended the conclusionExperience with deferred revenue, subscription or recurring-revenue models, and multi-element arrangementsExperience reconciling revenue between a billing system and the general ledgerStrong reconciliation discipline and the ability to investigate a variance through to root causeExperience supporting an audit, including revenue PBC preparation and direct auditor contactERP experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or equivalent)Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including comfort building schedules others can followStrong analytical and organizational skillsExcellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain a revenue position to a non-accountantAvailability for US time zone overlap
Preferred
SaaS, marketplace, or usage-based revenue experience, including ARR and NRR mechanicsExperience with billing and revenue platforms such as Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, Maxio, Recurly, or NetSuite ARMCPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification, or active progress toward oneBig 4 or comparable public accounting experience followed by industry experienceExperience at a venture-backed or PE-backed US companyExperience through an ASC 606 adoption, a revenue system implementation, or a first audit
