ROLE OVERVIEW
Senior technical professional responsible for transforming knowledge into industrial performance.
This role combines:
- Technical capability development
- Applied process optimization
- Data-driven insights
With the goal of maximizing eucalyptus (BEKP) performance and supporting softwood replacement with measurable results.
The position has a global scope, engaging with customers, internal teams, and innovation initiatives, integrating technical expertise, training delivery, and real industrial application.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Enable and engage (internally and externally)
- Plan and deliver applied technical training (in-person and virtual) covering fibers, refining and papermaking
- Ensure knowledge transfer is practical, structured and directly applicable to industrial operations
- Propose and implement new formats, methodologies, and content strategies to increase reach, engagement and effectiveness across different audiences
Translate knowledge into application
- Convert existing tools (models, diagnostics, guidelines, databases) into actionable solutions
- Drive successful BEKP adoption, including full replacement cases
Lead refining and fiber optimization initiatives
- Design and execute refining optimization recommendations with customers
- Link process adjustments to measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and cost
Lead innovation in refining and fiber characterization
- Contribute to and lead initiatives related to refining strategies
- Advance fiber measurement approaches and technical developments
Generate actionable insights from data
- Analyze technical datasets and benchmarks to identify gaps and opportunities
- Translate insights into clear recommendations that unlock eucalyptus competitiveness

WHAT SUZANO EXPECTS FROM YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Forestry, Materials, Process Engineering), Chemistry, or related fields
- Postgraduate studies or specialization in Pulp & Paper, Process Engineering or related areas
- Advanced/Fluent English
Technical experience
- Strong experience in the pulp and paper industry
- Experience in refining operations or refining technologies
Technical knowledge in:
- Pulp refining and its impact on paper properties
- Fiber characteristics, with emphasis on eucalyptus and softwood
Proven experience in:
- Stock preparation processes and troubleshooting
- Refining optimization projects (plates, energy, performance trade-offs)
- Technical training and knowledge transfer
Nice to have
- Familiarity with digital tools and data visualization (e.g., Power BI, advanced Excel)
- Programming/data handling (e.g., Python, VBA or similar)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments
