About the Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced EOIR Immigration Paralegal fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English to join our immigration law team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of immigration paralegal experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have hands-on experience with EOIR proceedings and removal defense cases.

Experience handling removal defense, asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, motions to reopen or reconsider, Master Calendar Hearings, and Individual Hearings is highly preferred.

The successful candidate is proactive, organized, dependable, and capable of taking ownership of an active caseload in a fast-paced immigration law environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both clients and attorneys are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Manage an assigned caseload of EOIR and removal defense cases. Prepare and organize filings for Immigration Court and EOIR for attorney review.Assist with applications for relief from removal, including asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and other forms of relief.Prepare and assist with Motions to Reopen, Motions to Reconsider, Motions to Change Venue, Motions for Continuance, and other court filings.Track Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, filing deadlines, and other court-related deadlines.Review Notices to Appear, hearing notices, court orders, decisions, and other EOIR correspondence.Assist attorneys with hearing preparation by organizing evidence, exhibits, applications, and supporting documentation.Prepare and maintain organized case exhibits and filing packages.Communicate with clients regarding upcoming hearings, required documents, case updates, and deadlines.Follow up with clients to obtain missing documents, evidence, and information needed for their cases.Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and case status updates.Monitor EOIR case information and promptly communicate changes or important updates to the attorney.Ensure all court deadlines and assigned tasks are properly calendared and completed on time.Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure all documents are properly uploaded and labeled.Communicate effectively with clients and team members through email, phone, and other virtual communication platforms.Perform additional EOIR and removal defense duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of immigration paralegal experience.Previous EOIR and/or Immigration Court experience strongly preferred.Experience with removal defense cases required or highly preferred.Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, with strong English communication skills. Knowledge of Immigration Court procedures and EOIR requirements.Familiarity with Master Calendar and Individual Hearings.Experience preparing immigration court filings and supporting documentation.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned cases.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Strong computer and technology skills.

Work Location and Schedule

Location: Fully remote — work from anywhere outside the United StatesSchedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
